Seals, glass run channels, radiators, garden and appliance hoses, tubing, washers, belts, electrical insulation, and speaker cone surrounds all use SBR PDM rubber. Among its variety of uses are electrical cable joints, roofing membranes, geomembranes, rubber mechanical goods, plastic impact modification, thermoplastic, and vulcanizates.
EPDM is compatible with most oils, gasoline, kerosene, aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, halogenated solvents, and strong acids, but not with most oils, gasoline, kerosene, hot and cold water, and alkalis.
Heat resistance, ozone resistance, and weather resistance are its main characteristics. Polar chemicals and steam are also resistant to SBR EPDM and have excellent electrical insulating properties.
